Amman – Under the patronage of Middle East University President Prof. Sari Hamdan, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences held a graduation ceremony for the first cohort of students completing the Psychological Specialist Diploma, organized by the university’s Psychological Care Center.
Prof. Hamdan highlighted the importance of preparing specialized professionals in psychological care, noting that the program addresses Jordan’s growing need for qualified personnel capable of providing high-quality mental health support, thereby strengthening the country’s mental health sector and reflecting the university’s role in serving society.
Faculty Dean Prof. Linda Al-Khawaja welcomed the president, congratulated the graduates, and described the diploma as a pioneering step in clinical psychology, equipping participants with the practical and scientific skills to serve diverse segments of society.
Dr. Hiba Fathi presented an overview of the diploma’s curriculum and praised students’ dedication, while acknowledging faculty members’ efforts in training and academic supervision.
The ceremony also featured remarks by Ms. Mais Al-Samhouri, director of the Mais Al-Samhouri Center for Psychological Therapy, who expressed pride in her affiliation with the university and gratitude for the support received in advancing her professional journey in mental health.
The event concluded with Prof. Hamdan awarding diplomas to the graduates in a celebratory atmosphere attended by faculty, staff, and family members.
