رKing Abdullah and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson discussed in Stockholm ways to deepen the strong friendship between Jordan and Sweden.
The talks, held first bilaterally and then in an expanded session, focused on boosting cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, cybersecurity, counterterrorism, and military coordination.
The King stressed the alignment of views between the two countries on key regional issues and reaffirmed joint support for efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, paving the way for an independent Palestinian state.
He commended Sweden’s humanitarian support for Gaza and underlined the need to resume funding for UNRWA in accordance with its UN mandate.
The King also reiterated Jordan’s coordination with regional and international partners to promote stability, warned against escalating violence targeting Palestinians in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and reaffirmed Jordan’s support for Syria and Lebanon in maintaining their security, stability, and sovereignty.
For his part, Kristersson stressed the importance of Jordan-Sweden partnership both bilaterally and within the frameworks of the EU and NATO.
