Jordan’s foreign reserves climbed to a record high of $23.894bn by the end of September, according to data from the Central Bank of Jordan.

The figures, monitored by Al Mamlaka, showed the value of gold reserves surpassing $9bn, also marking a new record. The volume of gold holdings reached about 2.353 million ounces by the end of September.

The data further indicated that Jordan’s foreign reserves now cover 9.1 months of imports, the highest coverage ratio ever achieved by the Kingdom.
