US President Donald Trump said he is confident the ceasefire in Gaza “will hold,” noting agreement on the next phases of his plan to end the war in the enclave.

Trump said Friday that hostages held by Hamas in Gaza “will return” on Monday under the ongoing deal.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, he added that about 28 bodies will also be recovered.

Trump said he expects to visit Egypt and later address Israel’s Knesset before returning to the United States on Tuesday, adding that “many leaders will join the visit.”

He said the Gaza ceasefire would pave the way for wider peace in the Middle East, adding, “We have a few small hotspots right now, but they’re very small... they’ll be very easy to put out. These fires will be brought under control very quickly.”
