Jewellery shop owners said the increase pushed many Jordanians to buy gold as a safe saving option, describing it as a reliable store of value. One trader said: “People should buy gold for saving and investment.” They noted growing demand for ounces and Rashadi and English lira coins.

Meanwhile, some citizens — especially young men preparing for marriage — expressed frustration at the soaring prices. One said: “Gold has become too expensive. We can’t afford jewellery for brides anymore, and it’s affecting us directly.” Another added: “Prices keep rising. Marriage now feels like an impossible dream because of gold costs.”

The continued rise in gold prices remains a key factor affecting Jordanians’ daily lives — shaping both marriage plans and investment decisions — amid expectations the metal will keep breaking records in the coming months.
