Impossible Displacement: How Egypt, Jordan, Qatar Formed a Rescue Front for the Palestinian CauseAhmad Abdelbaset Rjoub

Researcher and Strategic Planner

The "Al-Aqsa Flood" battle was not merely a transient military confrontation, but an existential test for the entire Palestinian cause. While Zionist tanks were waging their criminal aggression on Gaza's neighborhoods, another fateful battle was taking place on the front of politics and borders. There, the Egyptian and Jordanian leaderships stood as a bulwark against the most dangerous Zionist scheme since the Nakba of 1948: the mass displacement of the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip.

Axis One: The Deal of the Century and the Lost Opportunity

The so-called "Deal of the Century" emerged in the context of an Arab stance that has historically rejected any displacement projects. This deal was not just a political map, but a document to entrench occupation and legitimize the Judaization of the land, aiming to empty it of its inhabitants and solve the so-called "demographic problem" in favor of the Zionist entity.

With the outbreak of the "Al-Aqsa Flood," the extremist wings within the Zionist government saw the "opportunity of war" as a chance to achieve what the "Deal of the Century" had failed to accomplish. However, the Arab and international pressure resulting from the firm Egyptian-Jordanian stance forced even the American ally itself to declare the limits of the possible.

Axis Two: Political Acumen in Confronting the Displacement Scheme

The Jordanian role, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, was prominent during his historic visit to Washington on February 12, 2025, and his meeting with U.S. President Trump at the White House. The visit came after Trump presented his own plan for Gaza, which included U.S. control over the Strip and the transfer of its population to other countries, including Jordan.

When journalists asked him if Jordan was prepared to receive refugees from Gaza, his answer was a model of political prowess: he neither refused nor agreed, but cleverly shifted the trajectory by announcing that Jordan would receive two thousand sick Palestinian children for treatment, while simultaneously emphasizing an Arab initiative focused on rebuilding Gaza in coordination between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

This preemptive response thwarted the attempt to drag Jordan into the displacement trap and presented a humanitarian and political alternative that preserves the right of return and besieges the Zionist scheme. The King transformed the issue from a complex political conflict into a clear humanitarian and ethical cause, affirming that the existence of the Palestinian people on their land is a red line.

Axis Three: National Sovereignty as the Last Line of Defense

If political discourse was a soft weapon, then national sovereignty was the impregnable fortress. Heroism was embodied in the firm and simultaneous refusal from Cairo and Amman to open the borders to the displacement of Palestinians. This stance was not merely a political statement, but a strategic sovereign decision equivalent to a victory in the balance of power.

For Egypt, the displacement of Palestinians into Sinai constitutes an existential threat to national security, as it would not only liquidate the Palestinian cause but would also turn Egypt into a direct party to the conflict and a permanent hotspot of tension. Therefore, President El-Sisi's refusal was, first and foremost, a defense of Egypt.

As for Jordan, where Palestinians form an important part of the social fabric, any new displacement represents a threat to internal stability and an erasure of national identity. Thus, Jordan's decision was a defense of its own entity and future.

Axis Four: Arab Diplomacy: The Negotiation Front and Qatar's Role

Alongside the battle of the borders, an important diplomatic front emerged, led by Qatar through its hosting of the ceasefire negotiations. The Qatari role was not just complementary, but essential in managing the crisis both humanely and politically. The Zionist entity even went so far as to target this role through a military, diplomatic, and media attack, in a desperate attempt to undermine its successful efforts in breaking the diplomatic siege on Gaza and achieving prisoner exchanges. This aggression confirms the success of Qatar's role in strengthening the Arab negotiating position.

Axis Five: Unity in Confronting the Zionist Project

Gaza's steadfastness would not have been achieved in this legendary manner without Arab political and sovereign support. The blood of more than sixty thousand martyrs, the patience of Gaza's mothers and children, the wisdom of the decision in Amman and Cairo, and the diplomatic efforts of Doha have all merged. The field heroism of the people of Gaza found its vital support in the Arab will and the valiant resistance in Yemen and Lebanon, which prevented this sacrifice from turning into a new tragedy of displacement.

Conclusion: The Triumph of Will

The "Al-Aqsa Flood" revealed that liquidation projects have reached a dead end. The unified Arab stance, with its three axes—the Egyptian-Jordanian border axis and the Qatari diplomatic axis—was the decisive factor in containing the Zionist scheme. Arab leaders have proven that true leadership is not only in fiery speeches, but in bearing historical responsibility and making courageous decisions that protect the nation from the abyss.

History will record that this decision of refusal was a turning point in the Arab-Zionist conflict. They stopped the last displacement train with their own hands, preserving not only the future of Palestine, but a significant part of the stability and security of the entire region. It is the battle of existence in which will and sovereignty triumphed.
