For thirteen years working with the Jerash Festival, I have listened to the heartbeat of the place — not as a visitor or employee, but as a witness to the behind-the-scenes details that begin with the first light touching the stones of the amphitheatre and end with the departure of the last guest.
In every festival edition, as opening day drew near, my eyes would turn to those quietly stationed across the archaeological site — the security men, ever-present yet unseen, writing silent lines of safety that are not read but deeply felt.
From my own experience and early military service, I know the greatest challenge for a security officer at such major events is not simply managing entrances or crowd flow. The true challenge is to give thousands of visitors a natural sense of safety — without them noticing the effort it takes to make that possible.
The work of security officers during a festival of Jerash’s scale and legacy is far more than a routine duty. It is continuous mental and emotional effort requiring high alertness, anticipation, and instant decision-making — energy quietly spent for the comfort of others.
That is why the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts administration, represented by Executive Director Ayman Samawi, extends its deepest gratitude to all members of the security forces in every unit and capacity. Our thanks go beyond words — expressed through genuine respect for every sleepless moment, every swift decision, and every vigilant gaze that allowed us to celebrate with confidence.
You are not merely “security.” You are the guarantors of joy, partners in culture, and guardians of the festival’s living memory.
