Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation diverted several incoming flights from Kuwait International Airport on Thursday to nearby airports as thick fog reduced visibility to less than 100 metres.
Civil aviation spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi said the decision was taken to ensure the safety of passengers and flight crews, noting that the dense fog severely affected takeoff and landing operations.
He added that flights will gradually resume once weather conditions improve and visibility clears, stressing that authorities are closely monitoring the situation and will announce updates through official channels.
