Amman – Ministry of Water and Irrigation reported Sunday that long-term annual rainfall reached 4% of the yearly average of 8.1 billion m³ as of Sunday morning, 16 November.
The ministry said rainwater entering dams during the weather system from Thursday evening to Sunday morning totaled 1.8 million m³.
Wala Dam received the bulk of the inflow, 400,000 m³, raising storage to 5.3% of its 25 million m³ capacity.
Other dams recorded varying amounts, except for Unity Dam which received no inflow. Overall, main dams now hold 43 million m³, 15% of total capacity of 288.128 million m³, down from 57 million m³ (20%) previously.
The ministry activated emergency plans during the weather event and responded to 1,804 complaints, mostly related to flooded drainage manholes.
