Technical teams at the National Cyber Security Center Jordan successfully thwarted a cyberattack targeting the grain silo management system of the General Company for Jordanian Silos and Supply, according to the Center’s Director, Mohammad Al-Sumadi. Al-Sumadi stated that the attempted breach, traced to Iran, aimed to manipulate the temperature controls used to preserve wheat stocks in order to damage the Kingdom’s strategic reserves. He confirmed that the attack was immediately countered and had no impact on the silo management system. Al-Sumadi added that the national monitoring and surveillance system operates around the clock to detect and respond to suspicious cyber activities in accordance with international best practices and standards. The Center has previously alerted national institutions and critical sectors to raise their cybersecurity readiness and strengthen preventive measures. It also designated the emergency hotline (065900500) for reporting cyber incidents or threats.
