The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) announced the closure of the Sweileh Tunnel to traffic coming from the Safout area toward King Abdullah II Street to carry out lighting rehabilitation work aimed at improving traffic safety. The closure will be implemented in two stages over a period of 14 days, from 11:00 PM until 6:00 AM. The first stage begins Monday with the closure of the lane designated for traffic coming from Safout toward King Abdullah II Street. The second stage will be implemented next week and will include the closure of the lane in the opposite direction, ensuring the continuity of work according to the specified schedule and minimizing the impact on traffic movement. Shadi Al-Rawabdeh, Director of the Traffic Operations Department at the Greater Amman Municipality, said that the rehabilitation work is part of the municipality's plan to raise the efficiency of the tunnel's lighting and enhance traffic safety levels, calling on drivers to adhere to the announced traffic diversions and instructions during the implementation period.
