The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the continued incursions of extremist settlers into the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif, the latest of which occurred Tuesday, and the accompanying unacceptable provocative practices, including the raising of Israeli flags in the mosque's courtyards and the intrusive actions of the Israeli police. The Ministry considered these acts a flagrant violation of international law and the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its sanctities. The Ministry's official spokesperson, Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali, affirmed the Kingdom's absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the repeated incursions by extremist settlers into the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif and the accompanying provocative behaviors. He stated that these represent an unacceptable incitement aimed at imposing new realities at the site through attempts at temporal and spatial division, emphasizing that Israel has no sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem. Al-Majali warned of the consequences of these continued violations and provocations, calling on the international community to take a firm stance to compel Israel, as the occupying power, to stop all its irresponsible practices and continuous violations against Islamic and Christian sanctities in Jerusalem, and to cease unilateral measures in the occupied West Bank. Al-Majali reiterated that the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, in its entire area of 144 dunums, is a place of worship exclusive to Muslims, and that the Jerusalem Waqf and Al-Aqsa Mosque Affairs Department, affiliated with the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, is the legal authority with exclusive jurisdiction to manage the affairs of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif and organize entry to it.
