AMMAN May 6 2026: Student Mohammad Irshaid from the Faculty of Information Technology at Amman Ahliyya University achieved a distinguished academic feat by securing a research grant within the Mitacs Globalink Research Internship 2026 program. The grant is for participation in a research project titled 'A Metaheuristic Algorithm for Breast Cancer Classification and Diagnosis,' to be implemented at Thompson Rivers University in Canada. This initiative follows the efforts of the Jordan Source delegation to Canada in 2024 and falls within the Youth, Technology, and Jobs (YTJ) project. It contributed to building a strategic partnership with the Mitacs institution, providing Jordanian students the opportunity to engage in a 12-week research experience across several Canadian universities in advanced fields including Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Robotics, and modern technologies. Student Irshaid is contributing to this research project which focuses on developing an intelligent algorithm based on Metaheuristic techniques. The goal is to improve the accuracy of breast cancer classification and diagnosis, thereby supporting the medical sector with innovative solutions based on Artificial Intelligence.
