Inspection teams from the Ministry of Water and Irrigation/Water Authority of Jordan (WAJ) , in cooperation with relevant authorities, seized an illegal drilling rig in Giza area, south of Amman.
According to a ministry statement issued Tuesday, official reports were filed and legal action was taken into the incident.
During routine inspections conducted by internal control teams by the Jordan Water Company (Miyahuna) and JWA's workers in Zarqa's Ruseifa district, an illegal connection to a main water pipeline and unauthorized connections to several homes were discovered.
The statement said the necessary procedures will be completed to refer the perpetrators to the competent authorities and assess the value and quantity of the stolen water.
