The government on Saturday issued a circular on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) programs, tools, and applications in handling national emblems, flags, banners, sovereign symbols, images, and official seals.
The directive was made due to the potential for AI technologies to compromise the integrity and authenticity of these emblems and symbols, or alter their nature or approved form, it said.
It applies to all ministries, official departments, public institutions and bodies, public universities, municipalities, the Greater Amman Municipality, joint services councils, and government-owned companies.
AI programs, tools, or applications may not be used to create, generate, modify, process, enhance, or alter national emblems, flags, banners, sovereign symbols, images, and official seals, or to introduce any visual elements or effects to them, if such action would compromise their authenticity or alter their approved form or content, it stipulates.
