The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the escalation of settler terrorism against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, the latest of which were attacks targeting a number of villages, with settlers setting fire to homes, agricultural lands, and vehicles, uprooting large numbers of trees, and carrying out assaults against Palestinians. The official spokesman for the ministry, Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali, affirmed the Kingdom's absolute rejection of these condemned attacks committed by Israeli settlers, which are considered an extension of the extreme policies of the Israeli government and illegal Israeli measures in the occupied West Bank that fuel extremism and violence against the Palestinian people and undermine chances of achieving peace based on the two-state solution, holding Israel, the occupying power, responsible for these attacks. Al-Majali called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities, compel Israel, the occupying power, to stop settler attacks, hold perpetrators of crimes accountable and ensure they do not escape punishment, and fulfill the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent, sovereign state on the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital; as the sole path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees security and stability in the region.
