Jewish settlers intensified attacks on several towns and villages south of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank on Tuesday, setting fire to vehicles, attacking homes and damaging electricity infrastructure, according to Palestinian officials.
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission said in a statement that a group of settlers attacked homes in the area between the villages of Jalud and Talfit, setting fire to three vehicles that were completely destroyed.
The commission added that the settlers attempted to torch a building, but residents intervened and prevented the attack.
In a separate incident, settlers damaged part of the electricity network in the town of Madma, south of Nablus.
Rami Nassar, head of the Madma Village Council, said armed settlers from a newly established settlement outpost between the villages of Beita, Tell and Madma cut down electricity poles for the second time in a week, damaging the local power grid and causing outages in parts of the town.
Israeli forces closed the Solomon's Pools tourist site, located between the town of Al Khader and the village of Artas, south of Bethlehem.
The Palestinian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said Israeli forces sealed off the area by establishing military checkpoints and preventing Palestinians from accessing the site.
The ministry added that troops raided a house nearby and made it a military post overlooking the area.
Solomon's Pools is one of the Bethlehem governorate's most prominent historical and tourist landmarks. Palestinian officials say the site has been subject to repeated closures and military incursions that have disrupted access for residents and visitors.
Separately, Israeli forces carried out raids and arrest operations across several governorates in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, according to Palestinian sources.
The operations reportedly triggered clashes in several locations, with injuries and cases of tear gas inhalation reported.
Palestinian sources said Israeli forces searched homes, ransacked their contents and detained several Palestinians for field interrogation before arresting some of them.
The Palestinian Prisoners Club said Israeli forces arrested 22 Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, alleging they were wanted by Israeli authorities.
