The Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Water Authority, the Jordan Water Company 'Miyahuna,' and the operating company for the Disi Water Conveyance Project announced a temporary halt to water pumping from the wells and supply sources feeding the Disi project, resulting from the weather conditions and state of atmospheric instability experienced across the southern and eastern regions of the Kingdom on Friday and Saturday. The ministry explained in a press statement that the prevailing weather conditions caused technical failures that led to the suspension of pumping and the shutdown of sources within the Disi system, which will directly impact and delay the scheduled water distribution cycles for a number of areas in the capital, Amman, during Saturday and Sunday. Relevant teams confirmed that specialized engineering and technical crews are on-site in the field, undertaking maintenance work and repairing faults around the clock to restart the wells and resume pumping at normal capacity as soon as treatment is completed, restoring supply to areas according to their designated scheduled days. The Ministry / Water Authority and 'Miyahuna' called on citizens in the affected areas of the capital to understand this emergency circumstance and cooperate until maintenance work is completed and pumping resumes in accordance with the approved distribution schedules once conditions return to normal.
