The Ministry of Finance announced on Wednesday that an International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission has launched the sixth review of Jordan's Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program and the third review of the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF) program in Amman, assessing progress achieved in implementing economic and financial reforms. The IMF mission commenced meetings with the government's economic team and the Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan to discuss economic, financial, and monetary conditions, evaluating compliance with agreed targets and benchmarks under both programs, according to the ministry. The ministry confirmed to Al-Mamlaka that discussions between the governmental team and the IMF mission will continue over ten days. The two reviews carry significant importance as their successful completion is linked to unlocking new financing disbursements for Jordan. Published IMF disbursement schedules indicate that completing the sixth review of the Extended Fund Facility enables access to approximately $134 million, while the third review under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility will unlock at least $54 million. These meetings follow a recorded 3% growth rate for the Jordanian economy in the second quarter of the current year, alongside an inflation rate of 2.26% over the first nine months. Meanwhile, foreign exchange reserves rose to approximately $28.47 billion by the end of September. On June 17, the Executive Board of the IMF completed the fifth review under the EFF and the second review under the RSF, releasing approximately $188 million in funding to Jordan. The IMF originally approved the EFF program for Jordan in January 2024 with a total value of approximately $1.3 billion, while approving the RSF program in June 2025 at nearly $700 million to support long-term structural reforms, particularly within the water, energy, and health emergency preparedness sectors.
