Official and popular joint funeral services commenced today for the martyrs of the terrorist attack that targeted the church in the town of Humud, Karak Governorate. Mourners began gathering in front of Karak Government Hospital at 11:00 AM, before the funeral processions departed toward the town of Humud. Funeral prayers are scheduled to be held at 1:00 PM adjacent to the church. The martyrs will be laid to rest at a specially prepared site located directly opposite the church, featuring a collective grave and a commemorative memorial erected to honor their memory. Father Yuhanna Hamati announced that His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III, Patriarch of the Holy City of Jerusalem, all Palestine, and Jordan, will preside over the funeral prayer service for the souls of the martyrs. The burial ceremonies are taking place with widespread popular participation, while unified mourning tents have been set up in Karak Governorate to serve as a joint reception center where the families of the victims receive condolences together.
