Minister of Interior Mazen Al-Faraya stated on Monday that the apprehending of the three terrorists responsible for the Karak attack marks a significant operational success, while stressing that the arrest does not signal the end of the state's work.
Speaking at a joint press conference, Al-Faraya highlighted that the raid was a qualitative security operation executed under challenging conditions, resulting in zero injuries among security personnel. He confirmed that the state will complete full investigations to uncover all circumstances surrounding the crime, holding legally accountable anyone proven to have planned, incited, assisted, or facilitated the attack.
'We stand today more reassured that the hand of justice has reached the perpetrators of this atrocious terrorist crime, and that the blood of our martyrs will not go to waste,' Al-Faraya said, extending condolences to the families of the victims, His Majesty King Abdullah II, and the Jordanian people.
Al-Faraya recalled His Majesty the King's directive during his hospital visit to the injured—promising to deal firmly with the perpetrators and hold all involved accountable. He noted that the success of the security operation proves that royal directives are swiftly translated into action on the ground, affirming that the Jordanian state will never compromise on protecting its citizens' lives.
The Interior Minister commended the security agencies, institutions, and personnel involved for their high level of professionalism, coordination, and continuous operational efforts since the first moments of the crime.
Describing the attack as the product of a 'takfiri, extremist ideology foreign to Jordanian values and ethics,' Al-Faraya emphasized the necessity of confronting it on security, intellectual, and societal levels. He added that countering terrorism extends beyond capturing criminals to dismantling the root causes of extremism, hate speech, and incitement.
Al-Faraya concluded by praying for the martyrs and wishing a rapid recovery for the injured, reiterating that Jordan—under its Hashemite leadership, robust security apparatus, national institutions, and cohesive populace—will remain resilient against terror and extremism.
