By: Sheikh Faisal Al-Hamoud Al-Malek Al-Sabah / Rum News Agency AMMAN The contents of the Royal Speech from the Throne, delivered by His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, at the opening of the third ordinary session of the 20th Parliament, reflect a leadership approach grounded in wisdom and steadfastness, alongside a clear vision to reinforce Jordan's security and stability while advancing the path of modernization and reform amidst rapid regional challenges. From our position in the State of Kuwait, we follow with interest and appreciation the path along which His Majesty the King guides the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. We view his address as a reaffirmation that the strength of nations springs from the cohesion of their internal front, the solidity of their institutions, the confidence of their people in their leadership, and an unyielding commitment to the rule of law and national interest. What drew particular attention in the address was the explicit link between stability and development, as well as the emphasis that improving citizens' daily lives must sit at the core of government policies through creating employment opportunities, advancing public services, and accelerating strategic projects—foremost among them water security, which represents a national and future priority for Jordan. Furthermore, the Royal stance toward the Palestinian cause embodies authentic Arab steadfastness, rejecting all displacement schemes and attempts to infringe upon the rights of the Palestinian people, while confirming that peace and stability in the region cannot be attained without establishing justice and safeguarding legitimate rights. These are positions we deeply appreciate and take pride in, aligning fully with the enduring Arab fundamentals that unite us in defending our nation's causes. In the same context, I extend my most sincere congratulations and blessings to His Excellency Mr. Ibrahim Al-Tarawneh on his election as Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives, wishing him success in carrying out this national responsibility and continuing the House's vital role in legislation, oversight, citizen service, and cementing the state of institutions. His address following the Speech from the Throne demonstrated a keen awareness of the current phase's importance, alongside a dedication to ensuring the House remains the voice of the citizen and guardian of the public interest. It reflected a clear focus on prioritizing living and economic challenges, enhancing oversight, protecting public funds, and embedding dialogue and cooperation across various state institutions. What unifies the themes of His Majesty's address and the Speaker of the House's remarks is the joint affirmation that nation-building is a collective responsibility, and that the success of reform pathways demands unity of ranks, institutional integration, and the prioritization of the public interest above all other considerations. We in Kuwait take great pride in the fraternal and historic relations binding our two sisterly countries, as well as the enduring ties and shared positions uniting their leaderships and peoples. We continually look forward to broader cooperation and integration to enhance the security of both nations and the stability of the Arab region. May God preserve Jordan, its leadership, and its people, bestow upon it continued security and stability, and grant it further progress and prosperity. Source: Rum News Agency
