Inspection teams from the Ministry of Labor, in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate, have apprehended 20 domestic workers in recent days who violated labor laws by absconding from the homes of the employers who had brought them into the country.
Ministry spokesperson Mohammed Al-Ziyoud stated that the Ministry is continuing to carry out intensive inspection campaigns to apprehend domestic workers who have absconded from their jobs, with the aim of regulating the labor market and reducing such incidents.
He added that inspection teams are continuing their field patrols in various regions to apprehend more workers in violation of the law.
Al-Ziyoud emphasized that the Ministry will take the legal measures stipulated in current legislation against anyone proven to have collaborated with these workers—whether by employing them, providing them with shelter, or facilitating their absence from work.
He called on citizens and employers to refrain from dealing with or employing undocumented workers and to report any violations through the Ministry’s official channels, in order to protect their rights and maintain the stability of the labor market.
