By: Retired Maj. Gen. Hisham Ahmed Khreisat / Rum News Agency AMMAN The treacherous stab that claimed the life of Corporal Jwad Ali Al-Salayta while he was performing his duty in one of the streets of our beloved capital was not merely an assault on a security officer, but a stab in the chest of Jordan and a targeting of the state's prestige and the security of its citizens. It is a despicable terrorist crime that we condemn in the harshest terms. We ask God to bestow His vast mercy upon our martyr, to inspire his family and comrades with patience and solace, and to grant the injured a speedy recovery. More dangerous than the weapon of the crime is the dark ideology behind it—an ideology that poisons minds with hate speech and incitement until murder becomes a conviction and violence a means. Confronting it requires uncovering its sources, drying up its origins, and pursuing anyone proven involved in spreading or financing it. Whoever nourishes extremism and deliberately incites violence must not escape accountability. Our security agencies deserve all appreciation and pride for their vigilance, the valor of their men, and their sacrifices, alongside our complete trust and pride in our security apparatus. However, this crime necessitates strengthening proactive intelligence work, enhancing professional qualification and training to confront surprise attacks, and providing the highest degrees of protection for the brave men of Public Security. This responsibility does not fall solely on the security agencies; rather, it extends to the family, school, university, media, and all community institutions in building awareness and confronting disinformation and incitement. Silence in the face of extremism paves the way for its spread, and fortifying the internal front is a responsibility from which no one is exempt. The time has come to strike with an iron fist and with the strictness of the law against anyone proven involved in terrorism, incitement to it, financing it, or covering up its perpetrators. Our firm belief is that the judiciary will speak its fair and decisive word. The martyr's blood is not fleeting news, but an alarm bell, and loyalty to him is not expressed in expressions of sorrow, but in firm measures that prevent the recurrence of the tragedy. Let everyone who dares to tamper with Jordan's security know that this homeland is impervious to intimidation, and an assault on its protectors is an assault on us all. May God have mercy on our heroic martyr, heal our injured, keep Jordan towering and cherished, protect His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, our Hashemite Arab Army, our security agencies, and the brave personnel of Public Security, and perpetuate upon our homeland the blessing of security, pride, and stability.
