Amman will host, on Wednesday, the first edition of the Women's Clubs Championship (Jordan and Saudi Arabia 2023), from August 23 to September 1, 2023. The first four
teams from the Jordanian Professional League 2023/2024 will participate in the tournament, according to their ranking at the end of the second leg. And the owners of the first four places in the Saudi Premier League for Women 2022/2023.
The tournament draw was drawn on August 2, and the competition instructions stipulate that the teams be divided into two groups, the first includes the first and third place holders from the Jordanian Professional League, along with the second and fourth place holders from the Saudi Women’s League.
On the other hand, the second group witnesses the presence of the teams that won the second and fourth place from the Jordanian League for Professional Women and the first and third from the Saudi Premier League.
The winners and runners-up of each group qualify for the semi-finals, provided that the final match will be held in early September.
By hosting and organizing the tournament in its first edition, the Jordan Football Association is looking forward to enhancing the level of friction and competition for Jordanian women's teams with their Saudi counterparts, within the framework of the vision of technical development and advancement of women's football.
The federation also looks forward to enhancing coordination and cooperation with its Saudi counterpart, and expects that the championship will be held annually in the future, which will enhance the exchange of experiences and strive towards the development of women's football in the region.
