The Director General of the Tourism Promotion Authority, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, announced the start of operating 7 airlines to Aqaba through the low-cost airline EasyJet, including 4 new ones, during the winter tourism season, which begins next November. He added, in a statement today, Sunday, that the operation of 4 new lines to the Kingdom will increase the number of tourists and achieve a quantum leap in the tourism movement.
He explained that the new lines that will start coming to Jordan in the winter season (November-March) are from Milan, Italy, Amsterdam, Netherlands, Paris and Lyon, France.
He indicated that this increase in lines came within the authority's vision and aspiration to increase the tourism movement of the Kingdom, which is witnessing an increase in the number of tourists with distinguished numbers.
He pointed out that low-cost airlines contributed to increasing the number of tourists to the Kingdom, and achieved the desired goal of increasing tourism recovery and improvement indicators.
Arabiyat emphasized the economic feasibility of this type of aviation and the revenues it generates that reach the treasury, through sales tax from hotels, restaurants and stores in tourist areas, and its contribution to increasing the demand for tourism products and operators such as tour guides and various means of transportation, in addition to providing direct or operational opportunities. Indirectly supports local operator also.
