The clubs competing in the Professional Football League held a meeting on Sunday evening to discuss suspending their participation in the tournament, according to what a source said early Saturday.
The source told Al-Mamlaka that the meeting will be held at the Al-Faisaly Club headquarters at five o’clock on Sunday evening, to discuss the suspension of participation in addition to the possibility of discussing the outcomes that will be explained by the retreat held by the Executive Committee of the Jordanian Football Association.
The number of clubs that did not participate in the matches of round 6 of the league reached 10, awaiting the last match of the round between the Ma’an and Al-Salt teams.
These clubs implemented their agreement to suspend participation in the sixth round of league matches, which was scheduled to start on Thursday, due to the clubs’ demands from the Football Association to provide greater financial support, which the Federation did not implement.
The executive body of the Jordanian Football Association will hold a retreat on Saturday, in which it will discuss the strategic plan of the Jordanian Football Association for the next 4 years and focus on the national teams, according to the Federation’s Vice President, Marwan Jumaa, indicating that part of the meeting will address “empowering the clubs.”
