Benny Gantz, a member of Israel’s cabinet of war, said Wednesday that there are “promising initial signs of progress” on a new agreement to release detainees from Gaza, amid regional talks to reach a truce in the war.
“There are ongoing attempts to push for a new agreement on the hostages, and there are promising initial signs of possible progress,” Gantz said at a televised news briefing. We will not stop looking for a way and we will not miss any opportunity to bring our daughters and sons home.”
But he stated that without a new agreement, the Israeli occupation army would continue the war on Gaza even during the month of Ramadan.
“If no new agreement is reached on the hostages, we will continue operations during Ramadan month as well.”
