On International Women’s Day, which coincides with today’s date, we can only boast about the women of Jordan every year and at all times. The Jordanian woman has a real mark that has proven her worth by deserving empowerment, thanks to what she has offered in terms of giving and sacrifices, whether in her home or in her job and taking on any tasks assigned to her.
Today, the Jordanian woman has been able to prove her ability to be in any position or job with her competence, wisdom, and leadership personality. There is hardly a place or profession in the kingdom that she has not occupied with all merit and capability, achieving successes and distinction. There are many examples among the women of Jordan, and we must mention that thanks to His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, the status of women in Jordanian society has been enhanced. Now we are moving on the paths of political, economic, and administrative modernization, which the government has dedicated its efforts to empower women and their participation and contribution to party and political life to be decision-makers in the future and occupy the most prominent positions in the state in line with the royal vision and enhancing the character of the giving and effective woman.
We have seen how Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah has strived to a significant mark on the status of women in Jordan’s developmental journey, encouraging them to engage in education and work, and production through projects, even if they start small, and closing the gender gap, for women to rely on themselves financially and morally, achieve accomplishments, and excel in many projects across all sectors and fields.
The Jordanian woman has been able to write the most wonderful success stories and excellence and has managed to leave a unique mark with her contribution in highlighting the true and honorable image of Jordan and her contributions in various aspects of life and her determination with all resolve to be a fundamental and beneficial element. We have seen the leading newspapers honor Jordanian pioneering women for their successes in their work positions, and recently we saw how the women of Jordan were crowned with the title of the West Asian Football Championship, an achievement we take pride in and that elevates the status of the Jordanian woman who returns home crowned with the cup.
Recently, we saw how His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein bestowed the Order of the Renaissance on Her Majesty Queen Rania in appreciation of her efforts and in recognition of her, accompanied by his words that said: “And I find no brighter image than the one you have painted for your Jordanian sisters and carried with pride to the world, so they boast about their queen and raise their heads with their homeland wherever they step,” so his honoring was a tribute to every Jordanian woman, and his words echoed the heart of every woman who takes pride in her queen, who is considered a great role model for the giving woman, caring with the eye of a mother, sister, and daughter for the women of this country in all fields.
In conclusion, I send greetings on International Women’s Day to my mother, the beacon of giving and the icon of all tenderness, and to Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, the great supporter of every woman, and to the women of Jordan, and I say: Every year, we are creative and strong, presenting one achievement after another in all fields and sectors, raising generations with all determination, and shaking the world with our persistence, ambition, and resolve because we deserve the best for a future with a strong and distinguished vision of sophistication for us. Every year, may the woman in her home, in her job, in her project, and in her leadership achieve all the successes and good for this dear homeland.
