The significant reservations on domestic tourist trips to the Kingdom indicate an active demand by Arab citizens or tourists for “Eid tourism,” especially Jordanian tourist and archaeological areas during the Eid al-Fitr period, to spend enjoyable times throughout the country and enjoy various activities and events.
The city of Aqaba, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, Irbid and Ajloun are among the most attractive and popular destinations and regions for citizens and tourists during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
Owners of tourism offices and companies said, “There is a high demand from citizens to book domestic tourism trips, with the companies providing various tourism programs at affordable prices,” according to Petra.
They stressed that tourism offices seek, during the development of programs, to cover all governorates of the Kingdom and meet all tastes and desires of citizens, calling for holding more events and festivals in all governorates, developing tourism infrastructure, providing distinctive and comfortable experiences for visitors to tourist and archaeological sites, and paying attention to public cleanliness in those sites.
The owner of the Montana Tourism and Travel Group, which specializes in domestic tourism, Ashraf Hammad, said that the demand for Eid trips is increasing, especially for overnight trips in Aqaba, Wadi Rum and Petra, and one-day trips to the northern regions and the Ajloun cable car.
He stated that companies have intensified marketing and promotion of their tourism programs, providing them at competitive and encouraging prices suitable for citizens and their families, pointing out that three- and four-star hotel rooms are available at reasonable prices, in addition to the availability of tourist buses.
For his part, member of the General Authority of the Tourism and Travel Agents Association, Salama Khattar, confirmed that the Our Orduna Jannah program had a major role in stimulating domestic tourism movement during the holiday holidays, noting that all domestic tourism offices benefited from the program.
He highlighted the importance of domestic tourism, which is an opportunity to discover the tourist and archaeological sites that the Kingdom abounds in, which enhances cultural awareness of Jordan’s history, and contributes to revitalizing the commercial movement in the governorates.
In turn, the director of Rimal Tourism and Travel Company, Hazem Abu Eid, said, “One of the biggest challenges that tourism offices face during the holidays is the high prices of tourist camps and five-star hotels.”
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced that it will organize many events in the Hashemite Square in the center of the country during the second and third days of Eid al-Fitr, including performances for families and children.
