Al-Wahdat Club President, Dr. Bashar Al-Hawamdeh, said in exclusive statements to Rum Agency and Al-Malaeb newspaper that His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein praised the unified chant that came from the fans of the El Clásico match between Al-Faisaly and Al-Wehdat in the last meeting between the two sides.
Dr. Al-Hawamdeh said that on the sidelines of His Majesty the King’s meeting with activists and representatives of the refugee camps in Bani Hashem’s camps today, and during His Majesty’s graciousness to speak specifically to Al-Hawamdeh, His Majesty said that this chant serves the Palestinian cause and national unity.
In turn, Al-Hawamdeh indicated in his interview with Rum Agency and Al-Malaeb newspaper that he asked His Majesty the King, in the name of the heads of professional clubs, to have the honor of meeting with His Majesty to present the concerns and problems of these clubs to His Majesty’s hands.
There was widespread praise for the unified chant on the stands of the Al-Faisaly and Al-Wahdat match in support of Gaza and in praise of the Jordanian position under the leadership of His Majesty the King, as the video of that chant spread like wildfire, and the fans of the two clubs presented very wonderful pictures of the responsible, conscious cheering and was a model of sportsmanship and patriotism.
Al-Hawamdeh took advantage of standing in the hands of His Majesty to speak on behalf of the professional clubs to convey their concerns, as he was their spokesman during the recent crises that witnessed tension between the professional clubs and the Football Association.
