US President Joe Biden on Wednesday accused Chinese steel companies of “cheating” to keep their prices low, on a day when he confirmed his intention to increase customs duties on steel and aluminum from Beijing.
He said in statements to the Steelworkers Union in Pittsburgh, “Chinese steel companies do not need to worry about making profits because the Chinese government provides them with enormous support. They do not compete, they cheat.”
