HRH Princess Muna, honorary president of the Families and Friends Society of Persons with Disabilities, on Thursday attended the society’s annual charity ceremony.
The event featured the participation of HH Prince Mired, president of the Higher Council for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (HCD), Minister of Social Development Wafaa Bani Mustafa, and a number of diplomats, supporters, families and friends of people with disabilities, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
Riham Omeish, head of the society, said that revenue from the event will be directed to the society’s programmes. Princess Muna, at the end of the event, honoured the society’s partners and supporters.
Established in 1994, the Families and Friends Society of Persons with Disabilities aims to provide rehabilitation, training and necessary skills to help people with disabilities adapt and integrate into society.
The society also works on raising awareness and acceptance of people with disabilities within their families and society, as well as supporting their rights and providing them with equal opportunities in education and work petra
