His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan received a phone call on Monday from the Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, during which they both emphasized the need for international efforts to halt the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.

He also affirmed the necessity of stopping the Israeli military operations in Rafah and protecting innocent civilians.
His Majesty appreciated Norway’s step towards recognizing the Palestinian state, as well as its role in sending relief aid to the people of the sector.
He reiterated the importance of supporting the Palestinian people in obtaining all their legitimate rights and the establishment of their independent state along the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution.
