Under the patronage of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Azmi Mahafzah, Amman Al-Ahliyya University, represented by the university president, Professor Sari Hamdan, participated in the launch ceremony of the 2024 Global University English Olympiad at the Kempinski Hotel Amman. This event was organized in collaboration between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Masa International Testing Company.
The ceremony was attended by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Mamoun Al-Dubai, on behalf of the patron of the event, and the Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, Dr. Amr Salama, in addition to several presidents of public and private Jordanian universities, as well as a number of Arab cultural attachés and advisors in Amman.
The Global University English Olympiad is a significant international event that will take place in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from December 5-7, 2024, under the theme 'National Heritage.'
The ministry aims for the event to be distinguished, reflecting the stature of Jordan and its higher education institutions, and to leave a lasting impression on all participants about Jordan's educational and touristic merits.
Amman Al-Ahliyya University is one of the sponsors of this Olympiad, participating with two teams of university students. Through its active participation, it seeks to enhance its role as a leading educational institution in supporting global academic initiatives.
A total of 48 teams from 24 Jordanian higher education institutions will participate in this Olympiad, along with dozens of teams from Arab and foreign countries, highlighting the importance of the event, which draws the attention of global universities to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan as the host of this major event.
