Arab Bank has launched the 'Art of Recycling' initiative in collaboration with the Children's Museum Jordan, aiming to highlight the importance of preserving environmental resources by encouraging recycling practices to reduce their harmful effects on the environment. This initiative is part of Arab Bank's 'Together' corporate social responsibility program, which supports efforts and initiatives to achieve sustainable development in the local community, including environmental protection.
The initiative includes designing and manufacturing two collection bins for recyclable materials in artistic forms that attract children and families visiting the museum. This encourages them to collect plastic materials and used papers for various artistic activities as part of the initiative. It also aims to encourage them to adopt and apply the principle of waste sorting and recycling at home.
Two artistic activities will be conducted with children inside the museum. One involves reusing paper to a paste for forming a large sculpture of an oryx, and the other uses plastic bottle caps to an artistic exhibit in a geometric design to promote mental health, concentration, and creativity.
The director of the Children's Museum commented on the initiative, saying: 'We thank Arab Bank for its continuous support of the Children's Museum and its belief in the positive impact the museum has on its visitors. We hope that this initiative will play an active role in raising awareness of environmental challenges that pose a significant threat to our safety and the safety of future generations if not properly addressed.'
The Children's Museum Jordan is a non-profit educational institution launched by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah in 2007. Located in Al Hussein Gardens, the museum features more than 190 interactive educational exhibits indoors and outdoors, as well as educational facilities including a library, art studio, and secret garden. It also offers educational programs, events, and shows throughout the year.
It is worth mentioning that Arab Bank adopts a comprehensive and integrated sustainability and social responsibility strategy, reflecting its commitment to enhancing its economic, social, and environmental impact through close collaboration with various stakeholders to achieve sustainable development. Arab Bank's 'Together' social responsibility program is one outcome of this approach, focusing on developing various aspects of society through diverse initiatives and activities that serve several sectors, including health, poverty alleviation, environmental protection, education, supporting orphans, and empowering women.
