AMMAN – The Amman Chamber of Commerce reported exports totalling JOD 1.041 billion during the first nine months of 2024, slightly up from JOD 1.037 billion during the same period last year, based on certificates of origin issued by the chamber. The number of certificates issued rose by 6.6%, reaching 29,460, compared to 27,643 last year.
Saudi Arabia received the largest number of certificates (8,848), followed by the UAE (3,086), Iraq (1,898), Egypt (894), and Switzerland (21).
In terms of export value, Iraq led with JOD 511 million, followed by Saudi Arabia (JOD 91 million), Egypt (JOD 78 million), the UAE (JOD 65 million), and Switzerland (JOD 50 million).
Exports consisted of foreign products (JOD 517 million), industrial goods (JOD 211 million), agricultural products (JOD 143 million), and Arab products (JOD 68 million), with other categories making up the remainder.
The chamber issues certificates of origin for various goods, including Jordanian agricultural and natural resources, foreign goods for re-export, and products purchased locally under specific conditions.
