Youth Minister Eng. Yazan Al-Shdeifat visited the Zarqa Model Youth Centre on Monday to observe training sessions as part of the Ministry of Youth’s capacity-building programme for youth workers. The programme is a key element of the ministry’s plan to revitalise youth centres, engaging directors and supervisors from centres across the country.
During this unannounced visit, part of a series of inspections of youth and sports facilities nationwide, Al-Shdeifat emphasised the importance of capacity-building efforts. He highlighted the programme’s role in enhancing youth centre operations, developing youth programmes, improving infrastructure, and empowering youth workers with the necessary skills to connect with young people effectively.
Al-Shdeifat also stressed the critical role of directors and supervisors in fostering communication with youth, networking with institutions working in youth development, and attracting young people to the centres. He noted that this requires equipping them with essential competencies for youth engagement.
Meanwhile, youth centre directors and supervisors in Zarqa presented various challenges and issues they face, alongside their aspirations for advancing youth work in the governorate.
