The value of electronic payment transactions via “CliQ” rose to JD 1.56 billion in March, marking a 21.8% increase from February’s JD 1.2 billion, according to statistics from JoPACC (the Jordan Payments and Clearing Company).
Data shows approximately 12 million transactions were recorded last month — up by 22.3% from 9.9 million in February.
Since the beginning of this year, the number of transactions made through CliQ over the past three months has reached 32.33 million, with a total value of JD 4.1 billion.
As for the user base, the number of CliQ users in Jordan increased to 1.78 million in March — a 2.1% rise compared to the previous month.
According to the statistics, 96.3% of the platform’s users are Jordanian nationals — 1.7 million users — while users of other nationalities totalled 67,000 (3.7%).
The data also revealed that the majority of CliQ users in Jordan are male (62.1%) compared to 35% female users, with the most active segment being youth aged 18 to 30.
In terms of transaction types, money transfers made up 85.5% of all CliQ transactions, while purchases accounted for 14.5%.
CliQ is Jordan’s latest instant payment system, launched by JoPACC in 2020. It allows real-time fund transfers between bank accounts across participating banks and to and from e-wallets within Jordan.
These figures highlight the significant growth of the digital payments sector in Jordan, reinforcing the position of digital services as a safe and efficient alternative to traditional transactions — and signalling the country’s ongoing shift toward an advanced digital economy in step with global technological progress.
It is worth noting that the total number of CliQ transactions in 2024 reached 83.9 million, with a total value of JD 12.1 billion.
