Our Jordanian player Ahmed Al-Khatib, winner of the Arab gold medal for chess and the title of a great international master, and Ruba Al-Qudah, who won the women's bronze and the title of international teacher, received a warm welcome from the Royal Jordanian Chess Federation and the Jordanian chess family last night upon their arrival at Queen Alia International Airport after participating in the Arab Individual Chess Championship Which was held in Khartoum with the participation of nineteen countries. Al-Khatib's victory in the Arab Championship and his achievement of the title came despite the intense competition in the tournament, and thus Al-Khatib would be the first Jordanian player to achieve the title of Grand Master, which constitutes a great achievement for the Jordanian chess movement. This is the first time that Jordan represents this tournament.
