White House spokesperson Alex Pfeiffer said Monday that U.S. forces are maintaining a “defensive posture” in the Middle East, on the fourth day of military escalation between Israel and Iran.
Pfeiffer stated on social media, “We will defend American interests” in the region.
Meanwhile, Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth told Fox News, “What you're seeing in real time is peace through strength and America First. We are in a defensive position in the region, to remain strong in pursuit of a peace agreement, which we of course hope to achieve.”
