According to the decision, the price of live chicken for the offspring of the farm gate is set at one dinar and 45 piasters per kilo, for distribution one and a half dinars, and for the consumer at one dinar and 65 piasters.
The price of distributing fresh chicken was set at one dinar and 90 piasters, and two dinars for the consumer.
The decision came under Article 7 of the Industry and Trade Law No. (18) of 1998 and its amendments, for the purposes of controlling the market and maintaining price stability in the local market.
According to the decision, it is not allowed to exceed these price ceilings, but rather to compete without them, and to sell at less than them.
Prices will be monitored, analyzed and reviewed periodically and the appropriate decision will be taken.
Al-Shamali instructed to intensify control over shops and items, follow up on compliance with the price ceilings specified in the decision, and take the necessary measures against violators.
He also instructed to follow up the volume of quantities supplied to the market so as to cover the need of local demand during this period.
He said that the ministry will set price ceilings for any commodity whose prices rise without justification and exaggeratedly, pointing to the abundance of stocks of various food supplies.
And the head of the Consumer Protection Association, Muhammad Obeidat, had said, on Sunday, that there was an increase in the prices of poultry of all kinds, while the director of the Amman slaughterhouse in the Greater Amman Municipality, Shadi Al-Othman, explained, on Monday, that the rate of slaughtering and inspection of chickens in the slaughterhouse increased by 25-30%, during the 5 days. past.
