The Mufti of the Kingdom, Sheikh Abdul Karim Al-Khasawneh, said in a statement to 'Rum' that the Fatwa Department, since the beginning of the month of Sha'ban, has been holding several meetings with astronomers, the Jordanian Astronomical Society, and astronomers in the Arab and Islamic world, in addition to those interested in astronomy.
He added that the Fatwa Department has an idea and a visualization of the crescent and its exact position in order to know the exact time of absence of the moon after the sun, in addition to the fact that the devices owned by Jordan increase several times, pointing out that the electronic device is directed to the moon directly and does not need to know the position of the moon.
He pointed out that it is not possible to see the crescent in Jordan in the regions of Irbid, Al-Salt, Amman and Al-Karak, but it can be seen in Wadi Rum and Al-Safawi, as it is an open area.
Al-Khasawneh indicated that the Jordanian Astronomical Society owned 6 centers, and in each center there was a mufti watching the crescent.
