King Abdullah II participated Monday in a coordination meeting with several world leaders to discuss next steps in implementing the Gaza ceasefire agreement, on the sidelines of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit in Egypt.
The meeting was convened by French President Emmanuel Macron and included Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
Discussions focused on measures required under international mandates to ensure security in Gaza, facilitate humanitarian aid, and manage the sector during the coming phase. The meeting also addressed conditions in the West Bank and the need to halt unilateral actions against Palestinians.
Jordanian delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and King’s Chief of Staff Alaa Bataineh.
