RIYADH — The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen announced Thursday the interception and destruction of three ballistic missiles launched by the Houthi movement toward Saudi territory, as smoke was observed rising from a parked aircraft at Riyadh Airport, according to reports cited by Reuters. Spokesperson for the Coalition Forces Major General Turki Al-Malki stated that coalition forces intercepted and destroyed one ballistic missile targeting Khamis Mushait, alongside two additional ballistic missiles directed toward the capital, Riyadh. Saudi Civil Defense reported Thursday that debris resulting from the interception of a ballistic missile over Riyadh caused material damage to a local kindergarten and medical clinics in the capital, with no casualties reported from the falling fragments. Reuters quoted an eyewitness and three informed sources stating that smoke was seen rising from a parked aircraft at Riyadh Airport on Thursday. Saudi official authorities have not issued a formal statement regarding the specific airport incident, while sources indicated the aircraft was believed to be empty at the time. The Kingdom had previously reported late Wednesday that one person was killed in a strike affecting Riyadh Airport, while two women were killed in a separate attack on Abha Airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia.
