Director of Queen Rania Centre for Education and Information Technology Munib Tashman said the Ministry of Education is moving toward full digital transformation to keep students and teachers aligned with global technological progress, noting that development is now a necessity, not an option.

Speaking at the Government Communication Forum on Tuesday, Tashman said the ministry has begun digitising curricula, student and staff data, and other key records securely through its Cybersecurity Department in coordination with the National Cybersecurity Centre.

He added that the ministry is developing an AI-based website to help educators design modern study plans and support students with access to the latest educational tools and updates.

Tashman revealed that students may carry laptops or iPads instead of textbooks in the coming years.

Meanwhile, Acting Director of Vocational Education Ibrahim Ramadneh said the ministry has expanded technical and vocational education to a three-year programme from grades 10 to 12, introducing modern technological components.

He noted that the number of vocational specialisations—currently 12—will rise to 15 next year to meet local and global labour market needs, with vocational education expected to be available in most schools across the Kingdom in the coming years.
