Ahliyya Amman University, represented by Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology Dr. Rasha Tarawneh, took part in the annual Arab-Asian Biotechnology Conference organised by the Arab Society for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at Egypt’s National Research Centre, in cooperation with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and in strategic partnership with Ahliyya University.

Held under the theme ‘Desert Biotechnology and Life Sustainability in Arid Regions’, the conference addressed ways to achieve sustainability and adapt life in arid and semi-arid environments, alongside tackling climate change and food security challenges.

Speaking on behalf of University President Prof. Sari Hamdan, Dr. Tarawneh reaffirmed the university’s commitment to fostering an academic environment that prepares researchers to meet scientific challenges and strengthen international cooperation.

Ahliyya University contributed two research papers by Dr. Rasha Tarawneh and Dr. Murad Al-Maaytah.

The conference concluded by stressing that innovation in desert biotechnology, stronger international research cooperation, and closer Arab-Asian scientific ties are key to achieving sustainable development and addressing global climate and food security issues.
