Amman- JOEAGLE Company, in cooperation with the Association of Banks in Jordan, organized a specialized workshop titled "Passwordless Authentication" Sunday at the Association's headquarters in Amman, with participation from a technical delegation from the Swedish-Taiwanese company Keypasco and a number of representatives from Jordanian banks and financial institutions.
The workshop saw notable attendance from professionals in cybersecurity and digital transformation fields, where the latest global solutions in passwordless digital authentication were reviewed, highlighting the growing role of these technologies in protecting banking systems from cyberattacks.
The workshop included a live technical demonstration by the Keypasco team, explaining the mechanism of Device-Based Authentication and the Split-Key Protection model, which relies on splitting cryptographic keys between the user's device and the institution's server, preventing the existence of a single "golden key" that could be a target for attack or breach.
The sessions also covered an important aspect of the global FIDO standard as one of the most significant modern standards in digital authentication, providing a practical and secure alternative to traditional passwords and SMS-based one-time codes. It relies on secure, non-extractable cryptographic keys, raising protection levels against phishing attacks and login data theft.
In the welcoming speech, Mr. Saleh Hilalat, Chairman of the Board of Directors at JOEAGLE, emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating: "At JOEAGLE, we see transitioning to passwordless authentication as a fundamental step to protect banks and institutions from increasing threats in cyberspace. This workshop is part of our commitment to bringing the latest global practices to the Jordanian market."
For his part, Mr. Cheng-i Lin, General Manager of the Swedish-Taiwanese company Keypasco, expressed his happiness to participate in the event, saying: "Jordan represents a promising market for adopting the new generation of authentication technologies. Our cooperation with JOEAGLE and the Association of Banks in Jordan reflects our commitment to providing solutions based on digital identity and linking the user to their actual device, raising security levels without affecting ease of use."
The workshop concluded with several recommendations focusing on the importance of accelerating the adoption of device-based authentication, applying global standards like FIDO, gradually moving away from relying on passwords and OTP as the main defense line, and enhancing partnerships between banks and cybersecurity solution providers to raise the level of digital readiness.
