Middle East University launches celebrations marking birthday of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein in grand ceremony reflecting His Majesty’s place in hearts of Jordanians as symbol of wisdom, balance, and leadership of continuous nation-building.
Ceremony, held under patronage of Chairman of Board of Trustees Dr Yaqoub Nasereddin, attended by University President Prof Salameh Al Mahadin, university administration, security officials, local community leaders, government officials, members of academic and administrative staff, and large number of students.
Dr Nasereddin congratulates His Majesty on occasion of his auspicious birthday, saying King Abdullah II gives special attention to youth, driven by firm belief they represent renewable energy capable of accelerating modernisation and development across sectors, as makers of future, carriers of national development project, and active force shaping features of modern Jordan based on knowledge and innovation.
He adds His Majesty and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II play major role in modernising and developing education system, creating qualitative shift through ideas, planning, and continuous updating of education strategy in Jordan. He notes Royal Discussion Papers repeatedly stress importance of education and preparing students to contribute to state growth and become genuine partners in comprehensive, sustainable development.
Dean of Student Affairs Dr Hazem Al Nsour says celebrating national occasions strengthens positive citizenship values among students and helps entrench culture of belonging, work, and responsibility, contributing to balanced university personality combining academic excellence with national awareness.
Celebration includes varied national and cultural programme featuring artistic and heritage performances expressing Jordanian identity, including student performances, folkloric by Greater Amman Municipality troupe, choral pieces by university choir, and address by Student Parliament Speaker Ahmad Al Sbatin.
