Israeli occupation authorities announced they will reopen the Kerem Shalom Crossing to allow the gradual entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip starting Tuesday.
The crossing was closed on Saturday with the launch of the Israeli-American attack on Iran.
Israel’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories said the decision to reopen the crossing was taken “in accordance with a security assessment.”
Kerem Shalom, under Israeli control, is located at the junction between Gaza, Israel and Egypt.
Israel announced on Saturday the closure of all crossings leading into Gaza as a “security” measure, including the Rafah Crossing on the border between the Palestinian territories and Egypt.
Rafah, Gaza’s only gateway to the outside world not passing through Israel, had been reopened for crossings on February 2, after nearly two years of Israeli forces controlling it during the war with Hamas.
U.S. President Donald Trump warned on Monday that his attack on Iran could last more than a month, as the war widened with Israel bombing Lebanon and Tehran targeting Israel and Gulf states hosting U.S. bases.
